Go ‘Footloose’ When Bangkok Electro and Thai Mor Lam Collide

BANGKOK — Unleash your inner Thai Kevin Bacon at a two-day concert bringing together the capital’s keyboards and country’s khaen.

Footloose Party opens the two-day fusion of the two styles of music with live performance by the glam/trans singer Gene Kasidit, ambient soundsmith Plearn Pan Perth, electro-wave duo Cut the Crab and beard-powered Japanese DJ Moola.

The second day will please mor lam fans when famous folk ensemble The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band take the stage, followed by soulful reggae-dub Srirajah Rockers and mor lam-reggae act Siang Hong Lion. The night will end with DJ Maft Sai behind the deck.

The dress code is ‘80s and sneakers. Thai herbal liquor yaa dong will be sold at a temporary cocktail bar operated by Studio Lam for 200 baht per glass.

Admission is free. The event runs 6pm until midnight on April 1 and April 2 as part of The Street Sneaker Week at The Street Ratchada. The community mall on Ratchadapisek Road can be reached by foot from MRT Thailand Cultural Center.
