THAILAND — 30 October 2026, Binance TH has said customers’ digital assets remain safe and announced the temporary suspension of cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals while it conducts a security review. The company stressed that its asset storage is separate from Binance’s, after the global exchange was reportedly hacked for nearly 200 billion baht.
Binance Global, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, was hit by a cyberattack that initially saw about US$6.3 billion, or roughly 212 billion baht, flow out of its hot wallets. About US$3 billion has so far been traced and recovered, while there has been no further progress reported on the remaining US$3.3 billion.
On 30 October, Binance TH issued a statement on the security incident, confirming that digital assets held on its platform remain safe.
Gulf Binance Co. Ltd., which operates Binance TH, said the platform’s offline digital-asset storage, known as cold wallets, is independently segregated from Binance’s digital-asset wallets. Binance TH operates under its own legal entity and its own digital-asset custody system.
As a proactive precaution, the company has temporarily suspended digital-asset deposit and withdrawal services while specialists carry out a detailed security review. Other services on the platform remain available as normal. Binance TH said it would restore deposit and withdrawal services as soon as the review is complete.
The company said protecting customers’ digital assets was its highest priority and that it remained committed to operating in line with relevant security standards. It apologised for the inconvenience.
