BANGKOK — 29 September 2026, An election campaign policy by the Bhumjaithai Party promising an immediate THB 100,000 disaster payment per household has resurfaced online amid widespread flooding in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand.
Social media users have been revisiting a Bhumjaithai Facebook post published on 1 January 2026, which outlined the party’s proposed “Disaster Fund” as part of its election campaign platform.
The policy was promoted under the slogan “Ready Before Disaster, Standing with Thailand in Every Situation.”
Under the proposal, the government would pay THB 1,000 per household for disaster insurance coverage. When a disaster occurs, AI would detect relevant information and trigger an immediate payment of THB 100,000 per household, according to the party’s campaign policy.
The proposal also called for an upgraded disaster-warning system using satellites and AI, with information from different government agencies integrated to provide earlier warnings and improve disaster planning.
The party said detailed disaster-management maps would be prepared at the subdistrict level, alongside channels for providing accurate information to residents to help them make decisions during emergencies.
The proposal was presented as part of the party’s “Say it, do it Plus+” campaign.
The policy has drawn renewed attention as flooding has affected several areas of Bangkok and other provinces, with social media users commenting on the earlier campaign post and questioning the disaster-warning and relief measures currently in place.
Some users have jokingly captioned their comments “Hello from the future” while revisiting the campaign promise.
The renewed online discussion concerns the party’s election campaign proposal; it does not by itself establish whether the proposed Disaster Fund or its THB 100,000 payment mechanism has been implemented.
