PATTAYA — A 65-year-old Swedish tourist was robbed in the early hours of November 27 near Pattaya City School 8 in Chonburi Province. The victim, identified only as Mr. Lars, reported that a male suspect, described as appearing to be gay, stole 2,000 baht in cash and a gold-plated ring valued at 40,000 baht.
According to a motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the incident, the intoxicated tourist was resting while waiting for transport to his accommodation when the suspect approached. The witness, Winai, 50, said he had frequently seen the suspect in the area and had tried to warn the tourist, but the theft had already occurred.
Pattaya City Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and interviewing witnesses to track down the suspect. The incident was reported at 3:36 a.m., and police have launched an investigation.
