PATTAYA — Police have found suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a Chinese man, approximately 20 years old, who fell from the 6th floor of a 7-story hotel in North Pattaya, on Friday afternoon. Before police could arrive at the scene, dozens of Chinese nationals staying at the hotel had already packed their belongings and fled immediately.
While examining the 6th floor, which contains 16 rooms (8 rooms per row) of the hotel in North Pattaya, Moo 6, Naklua Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, investigators found evidence that occupants had suddenly moved out.
Each room appeared to resemble a scammer gang office, with computer equipment connections still visible though the actual computers had been removed, and multiple mobile phones left behind.
Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased. The body has been sent for a detailed autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police Hospital, Bangkok, along with identity verification procedures. A passport found in the room corresponding to where the victim fell identified him as Liu Song, age 24, Chinese national.
CCTV footage from the hotel’s basement level showed that around 2:05 p.m. on July 4, a group of 10 Chinese nationals, both men and women, came down to the basement level. Each person appeared panicked, carrying luggage, backpacks, and computer equipment, loading them into sedans and SUVs before hastily leaving the hotel.
The Pattaya Police investigation team is currently working to trace and solve the mystery of this Chinese national’s death. They are tracking down the group of Chinese nationals who fled for questioning.
