PHUKET — A taxi driver in Phuket forced two foreign tourists out of his vehicle after they allegedly engaged in sexual behaviour during a late-night ride, according to a local social media post and the driver’s account.
On Jan. 3, 2026, the Facebook page Phuket Times shared photos with a caption claiming the incident took place inside a taxi on the island, alleging that the couple ignored repeated requests from the driver to stop their behaviour.
The taxi driver later told local media that the incident occurred around midnight on Jan. 2. He said he had picked up a Russian couple who appeared intoxicated for a journey from Rawai to Patong.
During the trip, the couple allegedly began behaving inappropriately inside the vehicle. The driver said he switched on the interior light and asked them to stop, but they refused and became increasingly agitated.
The driver said he eventually stopped the taxi on the roadside and ordered both passengers to get out. He added that the male tourist appeared angry and attempted to confront him, prompting the driver to say he would contact police.
According to the driver, the male tourist responded by saying he had money and would pay for the ride, insisting on continuing the journey. The driver declined, left the couple at the roadside and drove away.
No official police statement had been released at the time of reporting.
