BANGKOK (DPA) — An arrest warrant has been issued for an American man in Thailand who tried to send body parts to the US, officials said Tuesday.
The suspect was originally called in over the weekend after he tried to send parcels of human parts to Las Vegas via a courier service.
He was released after confessing that he had bought the body parts from a local market and wanted to send them home as a prank.
However, it has since emerged that the parts were stolen from Siriraj Hospital's Medical Musuem in Bangkok.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed Tuesday that an arrest warrant had been issued.
Police said the suspect may have left the country and gone to Cambodia.
