Rayong mom asks police to arrest son over alleged cannabis use

RAYONG — A mother in Rayong has posted video footage of her son and his friends allegedly gathering at her home to smoke cannabis, asking police to arrest the entire group, including her own son.

The 36-year-old woman, identified only as Orathai, said she had repeatedly warned the youths to stop but they continued to arrive at her house on motorcycles and smoke cannabis at night.

The incident took place at a house in Village 12, Bang But subdistrict, Ban Khai district, Rayong province.

Orathai said the group, consisting of youths who were both in and out of school, regularly gathered at the house to smoke cannabis. The smell reportedly spread throughout the home, causing a nuisance.

She said she had reached her limit after her warnings failed to stop the gatherings, prompting her to record the group on her phone and post the footage on social media to draw the attention of police.

According to Orathai, the youths often appeared dazed and absent-minded after smoking. She also alleged that her son sometimes became irritable and harmed himself.

Rather than shielding her son, Orathai said she wanted police to arrest and take legal action against him and all of his friends.

Pol Col Pramot Kongkalai, chief of Ban Khai Police Station, has ordered investigators to inspect the house following the complaint.

Police seized cannabis and smoking equipment from the property as evidence and are proceeding with legal action against Orathai’s son and his friends, in accordance with her request.
