Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in collaboration with Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) launched a food truck service to serve low-income people in Bangkok, starting from Bangkok Noi district.
The food truck project called “Safe Food from heart to community” “aims at supporting underprivileged communities with quality food supplies in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. Its launching ceremony was attended by Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chalemchai Sri-on and CPF’s Chief executive officer Prasit Boondoungprasert.
“The Ministry is responsible for the safety of food. Therefore, we are committed to deliver quality foods for people in need in the time of crisis,” Agriculture Minister said.
The food truck project will extend the service to other communities including Bang Khun Thian district, Bang Phlat district and Nong Khaem district of Bangkok as well as low-income communities in Phichit and Trang.
Mr. Prasit added that this project has launched for the first time to serve each area ready-to-eat meals during the outbreak. The project’s period is 10 days per district.
“This project has emphasized CPF’s good corporate citizen philosophy that prioritized on well-being of the country and its people,” pointed Mr. Prasit.
Previously, the company has supported Ministry of Public Health by providing free foods to individuals returned from abroad to self-quarantine, medical staffs in many hospitals nationwide and families of nurses and doctors working in the frontline against the pandemic.
It also collaborated with the First Army Region to deliver free foods to 8,499 households in Khlong Toei district.
