Dr. Harald Link, President of B.Grimm, Receives Prestigious Award for Outstanding Sports Contribution to Korea Equestrian Federation
The recognition marked the first instance in the 70-year history since the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee considered granting the country’s sports honor awards.
B.Grimm has reaffirmed its dedication to advancing equestrian sports, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Harald Link, Chairman of B.Grimm and President of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited, was recently honored by The Korean National Olympic Committee, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
He was recognized with an honorary award for his contributions to The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee. The award recognized Dr. Harald Link’s unwavering determination and commitment to supporting, aiding, and benefiting the equestrian sports organization throughout the past period.
Dr. Harald Link is the first non-South Korean citizen to receive approval from The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as The Korean National Olympic Committee, for this prestigious honor award.
This marks a historic moment for South Korea, as it is the first time in 70 years since the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee began considering candidates for the country’s sports honor awards. The award presentation got enthusiastic applause during the grand ceremony held at the Olympic Park on Friday, February 29, 2024.
Dr. Harald Link currently serves as the President of the Thailand Equestrian Federation and the President of the Southeast Asian Equestrian Federation. Under his leadership, the Thailand Equestrian Federation has been committed to enhancing the level of equestrian competition in Thailand.
In 2019, the federation hosted the “FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2019,” the first major equestrian competition in Asia to feature the three main disciplines including dressage, jumping, and eventing. This event took place at the Thai Polo and Equestrian Club Pattaya, Chonburi Province, where equestrian athletes from South Korea won the gold medal in the individual dressage category.
Additionally, the Thailand Equestrian Federation has been approved by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) to host the “2nd FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2025.” This upcoming event will not only feature the three main disciplines used in the Olympic Games (dressage, jumping, and eventing) but also include endurance and para-dressage.
