BANGKOK — The area between Lumphini Park and Chinatown isn’t known for its green spaces, but beginning Sunday a new oasis for joggers and picnickers will open.
Chamchuri Park will open Sunday across from the I’m Park shopping mall with 29 rai (4.6 hectares) of green space full of local flora for the enjoyment of human fauna.
The park is opening as part of the university’s centennial, and will include spaces for exhibitions and classrooms.
Hate green space and need more malls? Don’t worry, Samyan Mitr Town – a mixed-use project combining offices, condo and retail spaces – will be erected right next to the new park.
