Aussie Hardened Criminal Caught in Pattaya After Fleeing Phuket

An Australian man with links to a foreign criminal network has been arrested in a luxury housing estate in Pattaya.

PATTAYA — An Australian fugitive with links to a foreign criminal network has been arrested in a luxury village in Pattaya.

On June 5, immigration police officers announced the arrest of Mr. Grey, a 52-year-old Australian national, whose permission to stay in the Kingdom had been revoked due to his behaviour being linked to a foreign criminal network in the Phuket Province, causing troubles to the local people.

Grey also has an arrest warrant in Australia and a criminal record, having previously served a prison sentence in Australia for drug-related offenses and other crimes harmful to society. He also has an arrest warrant for drug trafficking and possession of drugs.

The police officers take the Australian fugitive to Sub-Division 3 of the Immigration Bureau for the process of deportation.

This case stemmed from the arrest of a British man by Chalong Police Station in Phuket for carrying a gun into a pub. Upon further investigation, a connection to Mr. Grey was found. Grey’s behaviour was then reported to the Foreign Affairs Division of the Royal Thai Police and Immigration Division 6 for consideration and action under the Immigration Act of 1979.

After consideration by Immigration Division 6, it was determined that Mr. Grey’s behaviour was credible evidence that he is a person who is a danger to society or may cause harm to the peace or safety of the public or the security of the Kingdom, or is a person for whom a foreign government official has issued an arrest warrant. Therefore, Mr. Grey’s permission to stay in the Kingdom was revoked.

However, Mr. Grey became alert and fled from Phuket. The officers investigated until they learned that he was hiding in a luxury village in Pattaya, Chonburi Province. They then went to notify him of the revocation of his permission to stay in the Kingdom and took him into custody, sending him to Sub-Division 3 of the Immigration Bureau for the process of deportation and blacklisting him from entering the Kingdom in the future.
