Five Chinese Held for Illegal Property Brokering in Pattaya

PATTAYA — Tourist Police have arrested five Chinese nationals and one stateless person for illegally operating as real estate brokers without permits in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

Police Lieutenant General Saksira Phuek-am, Commander of the Tourist Police Bureau, led officers with a search warrant to inspect an unnamed real estate office opposite The Chill shopping mall on Boon Samphan Road, Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district on December 16. Officers found six individuals, including five Chinese nationals and one stateless person, working as brokers selling and renting properties through online channels to Chinese clients.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that some properties handled by the suspects had previously been used as bases for call center scam operations that were busted earlier. The suspects confessed to earning commissions from property sales and successful deal closures.

The suspects have been charged with working without permits under the Foreign Workers Management Emergency Decree B.E. 2560 and illegal entry into the Kingdom under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522. They were taken to Nong Prue Police Station for legal proceedings.

This operation is part of the Tourist Police Bureau’s intensive crackdown on foreigners working or residing illegally in Thailand, particularly in areas with high concentrations of foreign residents and significant business districts.
