Marriott Bonvoy Enlivens Alternative State Quarantine Stays in Bangkok With Virtual Guest Activities

Four ASQ hotels in the Thai capital organize a series of online sessions, such as Zoom yoga, trivia quizzes and arts & crafts classes to keep guests fit and healthy in body and mind

Bangkok, ThailandMarriott Bonvoy is enlivening Thailand’s “Alternative State Quarantine” program with a series of immersive and interactive experiences for guests staying at three of its hotels in Bangkok.

Le Méridien Bangkok, The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok, and Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 are all currently welcoming international visitors, including returning Thai nationals and expats, who are required to spend at least 14 days in quarantine upon their arrival in the Kingdom. To make this period a little more inspiring, the teams at Marriott’s ASQ hotels have developed a series of fun and free sessions that guests can take part in without leaving their room or suite.

At Le Méridien Bangkok, ASQ travelers can stay fit and healthy in their room with online yoga sessions. Hosted by a qualified instructor over Zoom, these daily get-togethers last up to 45 minutes, while personalized classes can be arranged based on individual needs. The hotel also offers personal training and gym equipment to borrow and rent, then use safely in the comfort of the room or suite.

Good health always takes top priority at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok, and the hotel has reaffirmed its wellness philosophy by launching a fitness video for its ASQ guests, featuring four simple workouts. With moves such as crunches, squats and glute bridges, the WestinWorkout routines have been especially designed to be enjoyed in the room, without the need for fitness equipment.

Finally, Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 is offering a trio of diverse Zoom activities, so every visitor can find something to suit their interests. Morning yoga classes are hosted online, while daytime arts and crafts allow ASQ guests to decorate their own Krajood bags, a product from Phatthalung province that forms part of Amazing Thailand’s One-Tambon-One-Product (OTOP) project. Then in the evening, the “Kahoot Live!” virtual trivia night invites up to 10 players to take part in a quiz, with cash vouchers for the winners to spend during their stay!

“At Marriott International, we want to make the Alternative State Quarantine process as comfortable and convenient as possible. By organizing a wide range of creative classes, we hope that we are also making our guests’ stays more enjoyable. It is important to stay mentally and physically fit during the ASQ period, so each of these virtual events has been crafted to boost the body and inspire the mind,” said Jakob Helgen, Area Vice President – Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Myanmar, Marriott International.
