Super AI Engineer 2025: Thailand Strengthens Its Position as a Regional AI Leader

The 5th National AI Exhibition, held on 22–23 October 2025 at Central Rama 9, marked a key milestone in Thailand’s advancement in artificial intelligence. The event commemorated the 5th anniversary of the Super AI Engineer Program and the 10th anniversary of the Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT), attracting professionals, innovators, researchers, and policymakers from across the nation.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, highlighted the strategic importance of cultivating skilled AI talent. She emphasized that strengthening the AI workforce is essential for building a knowledge-based economy, fostering innovation, and enhancing Thailand’s competitiveness in emerging industries. The Super AI Engineer Program, she noted, is a crucial engine for long-term economic development and future investment.

Dr. Rattapoom Tuchinda, Deputy Director of PMU-B, reaffirmed the agency’s continued support, stressing that the program plays a vital role in addressing Thailand’s shortage of AI professionals. Increased AI capability, he said, is necessary for elevating the country’s global standing.

AIAT President Dr. Thepchai Supnithi emphasized that sustainable AI development relies on empowering people to both create and apply AI technologies effectively. Season 5 focused on developing AI users, model builders, and knowledge creators, supported by collaborations with more than 50 government and private sector organisations.

This year’s event recorded 12,718 participants across multiple tracks, producing over 210 AI innovation projects and several commercially viable models. A startup pitching session featured alumni-led ventures, with Nerth.ai selected as the winning team.
