NAKHON PATHOM — From John Williams’ Star Wars and Harry Potter scores to Klaus Badelt’s Pirates of the Caribbean theme, the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra will play pop showtunes for music and movie fans alike next month.
Conductor and professor Thanapol Setabrahmana will lead one of the nation’s top orchestras in producing melodies from popular films classic and contemporary. Beside the international hits, audiences can also hear scores from famous Thai movies such as period epic “King Naresuan 5,” ghost story “Nang Nak” and “The Overture,” along with coming-of-age films “Seasons Change” and “The Love of Siam.”
Pre-concert discussions will be held 45 minutes before each performance.
Tickets are 300 baht, 500 baht, and 100 baht for students undergraduate and below. They can be purchased online or at the box office.
The concerts will start at 7pm and 4pm respectively on March 17 and 18 at the Prince Mahidol Hall at Mahidol University in Salaya, about an hour’s drive from downtown Bangkok. It can be reached by taxi or shuttle bus from BTS Bang Wa exits No. 1 or 2.
