(1 November) A 67-year-old woman in Ayudhaya province announced plans to reward THB 20,000
to anyone who can bring to the arrest of her nephew, after he allegedly stole valuable items worth
more than THB 2 million from her safety box. 

(1 November) “Rong Tiam” owner has been arrested for hiring migrant workers with invalid work
permits.

11 Women, reportedly from Vientiane and one from Luang Phrabang were found working  at the restaurant, which is located in Nong Bua Lamphu province. They were later taken to the police
station on charges for being alien immigrants without work permits after police raided the establishment.

Illegal
migrants could face charges of a maximum THB 20,000 fine and deportation to their homeland.

Mr.
Supit Datham, 23, who claimed to be the quardian of the women, was also charged of hiring alien
workers, which carries a fine of up to THB 10,000 – 100,000 per migrant.

(31 October) Democrat MP, Mr. Suthep Thuegsuban, started a protest against the draft
Amnesty Bill, which has been through deliberation in the Lower House today.

The MP had led a
gathering of approximately 5,000 people who disagree with the decision made by the Phuea Thai-led
government to push the bill into the House of Representatives.

Mr. Suthep vowed on stage that
he had offered the government two choices; to dismiss the bill from the lower house for peaceful
results, or to pursue the bill and face massive uprising from the Thai people.

The Surat
Thani representative also warned that if any of the protesters were injured, the families of the
Cabinet would be in danger.

Our correspondent reported that at 17.00 pm, more people –
mostly from Bangkok – attended the protest.

Reportedly, many protesters had occupied the
railway, prompting the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to send officers to manage the area.

By 18.00 pm, the democrat MP and his crowd blew whistles to mark the start of the fight
against the bill, as they vowed to fight for their victory.

(31 October) Ms. Paisuda Damrongchonlatee, a resident of Phuket province, reported to the
police that she had been scammed by a foreigner, whose name she claimed to be ‘Nick
Holly’.

According to Ms. Paisuda, she met Mr. Holly through Facebook several months ago, and
the two had exchanged phone numbers.

Mr. Holly then allegedly told Ms. Paisuda that he had
sent her such items as; an iPhone, chocolate and some gifts, which she had checked for their
validity online.

Ms. Paisuda was then contacted by a woman who claimed to be an Officer in
Malaysia, and was told that GBP 270,000 cash was also contained inside the gift package. The officer
then offered that Ms. Paisuda pay THB 20,000 in order to receive the gifts, which allegedly required
authorisation from Malaysian authorities.

Ms. Paisuda paid the money, but said she had seen
no sign of the gifts. However, on 27 October, she was contacted by a man who claimed to be from the
Interpol, who later accused her of illegal money transfer and threatened to arrest her.

In
fear, Ms. Paisuda then transferred another THB 2 million to stop the harassment. However, Ms.
Paisuda later decided to seek help from the police, as the man continued threatening her for more
money and realised that she could be a victim of fraud.

Police suspected that an insider
might be involved in the incident since the lady had recently sold her property for THB 7 million
and received THB 2 million on her part.

(31 October) Villagers who live along Thailand-Cambodia border worried over possible
fights, as the day of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) verdict on Preah Vihear temple
approaches.

Reportedly, many villagers have stocked on food amid fear they would be
unable to go in the forest along the border as the verdict hearing is planned to announce on 11
November, said Ms. Sawai Phanpa, one of the villagers.

She also said that many villagers were
terrified of the possible violence, because they once suffered from a similar incident in 2011. Then, Ms.
Sawai said that she, and other villagers, had to relocate to other areas to escape from Cambodia’s
artilleries.

Mr. Songkram Roongthaisong, 28, said that he saw a surveillance-lookalike plane
flew over the border on 30 October. The plane operated for 20 minutes before disappearing toward
Ubon Ratchathani province.

He added that he had seen the similar plane operate when clashes between Thailand and Cambodia broke out in 2011, and suspected that the plane he saw yesterday
could be spying on Cambodian soldiers’ encampment on the Thai’s side of the Preah Vihear.

(31 October) An interprovincial bus skidded off the road in Kalasin province before sliding
into a Gas Station, leaving 6 passengers including a foreign man and a driver trapped
inside.

Mr. Piyanat Areethawat, 27, the driver, said that he had to make a quick turn as a
truck crosscut his bus. The bus then drifted off the road into the direction of a gas station,
before hitting a sign post in front of the establishment.

Reportedly, three people were
severely injured, while the rest were slightly hurt.

A foreign man who was trapped inside
the bus along with other passengers was later identified as Mr. Klaus Peter Buhrig, 56, whose
nationality is as yet unconfirmed.

Police said they are still suspicious with Mr. Piyanat′s
statement and would continue to investigate the incident thoroughly.
