A Thai restaurant in southwest London has attracted renewed attention after British actor Tom Holland named it as his family’s favourite local restaurant during an interview released on 14 July by NYT Cooking.
Speaking in “Matt Damon and Tom Holland: The Pizza Interview,” Holland recommended The Cocoanut, a Thai restaurant in Kingston upon Thames, saying it is the place his family regularly visits when dining out in their hometown.

The Cocoanut has been serving authentic Thai cuisine in Kingston upon Thames since 2010. The third-generation family-run business combines traditional Thai dishes with the atmosphere of a classic British pub, with the owners saying they aim to offer authentic Thai flavours in a relaxed setting. The venue is also dog-friendly.

The Holland family’s connection to the restaurant has been highlighted before. In 2024, Tom’s brother, Sam Holland, visited the restaurant’s kitchen to watch chefs prepare pad Thai and shared the experience on social media, reflecting the family’s fondness for Thai food.
Holland also recommended The Cocoanut to The Infatuation London editor Jake Missing in 2024, describing it as one of his favourite London pubs.
