Floyd Mayweather Announces His Status as ACT(ACET) Holder

Acme-Worawat has once again made history, propelling Thai cryptocurrency ACT(ACET) onto the global stage by bringing in ‘Floyd Mayweather,’ the legendary undefeated boxer who has earned over $1 billion and has become an ACT holder.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., the legendary undefeated boxer (50-0 record) and one of the world’s highest-earning athletes, with career earnings exceeding $1 billion, has announced his status as an ACT(ACET) holder and expressed his full endorsement of the project. He disclosed this development through a post on his personal social media accounts, which collectively gather over 50 million followers. He stated:

I had the pleasure of spending time with Acme, its founder, in NYC last week. I believe in Acme and ACET(ACT). ACET(ACT) is a DeFi project that has been around for several years.” “Under Acme’s leadership, the potential of ACT(ACET) has become increasingly evident, with its trajectory of growth and strong collaboration within the community.”

Mayweather posted a step-by-step guide on purchasing ACT(ACET), inviting his global fanbase to explore further information and become part of the ACT(ACET) ecosystem. He emphasised, “Even a small investment can add up.”

image2 7

Acme-Worawat Narknawdee, one of Asia’s largest Bitcoin holders and the founder of globally recognised blockchain-powered digital asset ACT(ACET), expressed his pleasure at Floyd Mayweather becoming an official holder of ACT(ACET). He highlighted that his recent visit to New York, at Mayweather’s invitation, provided an opportunity for an exchange of energy, ideas, and vision with the legendary undefeated boxer. Today, ACT(ACET) has pledged to move forward with the same mindset as Mayweather— “to remain undefeated in the ring of digital businesses.” Currently, ACT(ACET) has over 158,000 holders, a total trading volume exceeding $456 million (15,504 million baht), and sustained growth within the cryptocurrency sector. ACT(ACET) is no longer merely a cryptocurrency token; it has evolved into a “global business opportunity.”

“I presented Mayweather with a one-of-a-kind #iHoldACT hoodie featuring his portrait, symbolising the friendship between us. Although we come from entirely different industries—cryptocurrency and boxing—we have converged through a shared ambition: to elevate ACT(ACET) into a leading global digital asset. In return, Floyd gifted me an Avi & Co. luxury watch worth over $150,000 (approximately 5.4 million baht), signifying time, determination, and the driving force behind ACT(ACET)’s imminent achievement of its objectives,” Acme Worawat concluded.

Additionally, TMZ, the leading U.S. celebrity news outlet, reported that Floyd Mayweather is expanding his investments beyond New York real estate into digital assets. This exclusive meeting with Acme Worawat, the founder of ACT(ACET) and a key figure in the global blockchain sector, is increasingly being viewed as a pivotal development that the cryptocurrency world should stay tuned for.

BANGKOK (AP) — Leaders of nations in the Bay of Bengal region pledged to improve trade and transport cooperation as they concluded a summit in Bangkok on Friday.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said the seven nations also agreed to increase natural disaster relief efforts after an earthquake last week killed more than 3,000 people in Myanmar and Thailand.

The leaders also expressed their “condolences, solidarity, and commitment to supporting the affected countries” in a joint statement on the earthquake, the Thai leader and meeting chair said.

The meetings faced controversy by the attendance of the head of Myanmar’s military government, Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing, who has been shunned by many countries over his 2021 takeover and the brutal oppression that followed.

He has not been allowed to participate in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, another regional grouping to which Myanmar belongs, and his opponents have called on BIMSTEC to refrain from engaging with him.

The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation, or BIMSTEC, members are Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

It was Min Aung Hlaing’s first visit to a country other than his government’s main supporters and backers — China, Russia and Russian ally Belarus — since he attended a regional meeting in Indonesia in 2021.

Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura said Paetongtarn had a bilateral meeting with Min Aung Hlaing, and that they discussed relief efforts for the earthquake and cooperation on border security, especially on issues of illegal trade, drugs smuggling and online scams.

Other leaders attending the summit are Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser to the Bangladesh government, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thailand postponed the meetings last year, after then-Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin was removed from office by a court order. Thailand has now handed the group’s chairmanship to Bangladesh.

Moving to Thailand? Here’s Where to Start Your Job Search in English

Whether you’re craving a change of scenery or planning a permanent relocation, Thailand continues to attract expats for its warmth—both in climate and hospitality. But once the dream meets reality, the question becomes: Where can you actually find a job?

Thailand’s Job Market for Expats

Thailand’s employment landscape for foreigners is a mixed bag. While some sectors remain strictly off-limits due to local labor laws, others actively welcome international talent—especially in education, tech, tourism, and digital marketing.

The Thai government limits certain professions to Thai nationals, but roles that require English fluency, niche technical skills, or cultural expertise from abroad are often open to foreign applicants. Work permits and visa requirements still apply, but many companies are familiar with the process and willing to sponsor the right candidate.

image3 5

Best English-Language Job Sites in Thailand

If you’re searching in English, here are the most practical and well-known job platforms:

  1. ThaiJob.com

image2

While mostly in Thai, ThaiJob.com occasionally lists positions in English—especially in multinational companies and hospitality. Use browser translation tools if needed, and don’t overlook local job boards—they often hide great opportunities for those searching for thai jobs.

2. JobsDB Thailand

A go-to site for professionals across Southeast Asia, JobsDB offers a bilingual interface. Use the English filter to find listings from international companies or local firms looking for foreign talent.

3. LinkedIn

Many Thai employers now list job openings on LinkedIn, and it’s often used to source candidates for roles in digital marketing, management, finance, and IT. Tip: Update your location to Thailand and start following local recruiters.

image5 4

4. Ajarn.com

This long-standing site specializes in teaching English in Thailand, one of the most accessible fields for new arrivals. Listings include positions at private schools, international schools, and language centers.

5. The BigChilli & Bangkok Post Job Listings

Expats often find useful leads in the classifieds sections of English-language publications. The BigChilli (a lifestyle magazine for expats) and Bangkok Post regularly feature job ads and career fairs.

Remote Work: A Growing Option

Thailand is also a rising destination for digital nomads and remote workers. While the country doesn’t yet have an official digital nomad visa, many use the Smart Visa, Education Visa, or business visas to stay legally while working remotely. Cities like Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket have coworking spaces, fast internet, and thriving expat communities.

“Thailand is ideal for remote work, but know your visa boundaries,” says Greg Lawrence, an American tech consultant based in Chiang Mai. “Immigration rules are strict, so do your homework or talk to a relocation expert.”

Work Permits and Legal Basics

image4 5

To legally work in Thailand, foreigners must secure a work permit and a non-immigrant visa. Some employers provide this; others may expect you to sort it first. It’s crucial to avoid working on a tourist visa, which is illegal and could result in blacklisting or deportation.

For up-to-date guidelines, consult the Thai Ministry of Labour or speak with immigration lawyers or relocation consultants in Thailand.

Final Tips Before You Apply

  • Tailor your CV to international standards, but make it concise.
  • Learn basic Thai phrases—it helps in interviews and daily life.
  • Be aware of salary expectations. Wages vary greatly by industry and experience. Teaching jobs may pay less than tech or consulting roles but often include housing and bonuses.

South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol Removed from Office over Declaration of Martial Law

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea’s Constitutional Court removed impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol from office on Friday, ending his tumultuous presidency and setting up an election to find a new leader, four months after he threw South Korean politics into turmoil with an ill-fated declaration of martial law.

The unanimous verdict capped a dramatic fall for Yoon, a former star prosecutor who went from political novice to president in 2022, just a year after he entered politics.

In a nationally televised verdict, the court’s acting chief Moon Hyung-bae said the eight-member bench upheld Yoon’s impeachment because his martial law decree seriously violated the constitution and other laws.

“The defendant not only declared martial law, but also violated the constitution and laws by mobilizing military and police forces to obstruct the exercise of legislative authority,” Moon said, “Ultimately, the declaration of martial law in this case violated the substantive requirements for emergency martial law.”

“Given the grave negative impact on constitutional order and the significant ripple effects of the defendant’s violations, we find that the benefits of upholding the constitution by removing the defendant from office far outweigh the national losses from the removal of a president,” the justice concluded.

Protesters erupt in jubilation and sorrow

At an anti-Yoon rally near the old royal palace that dominates downtown Seoul, people erupted into tears and danced when the verdict was announced. Two women wept as they hugged and an old man near them leapt to his feet and screamed with joy.

The crowd later began marching through Seoul streets. Some people were dressed in cute blue bear costumes, a protest mascot that uses the opposition’s colors.

Outside Yoon’s official residence, thousands of supporters cried and screamed when they saw the news of the verdict on a giant TV screen. They waved South Korean and U.S. flags and chanted slogans.

“We will absolutely not be shaken!” a protest leader shouted on stage. “Anyone who accepts this ruling and prepares for an early presidential election is our enemy.”

No major violence was immediately reported.

Korea faces an election with deep divisions

An election will be held within two months to replace Yoon, but a festering national divide over Yoon’s impeachment will likely continue and could complicate South Korea’s efforts to deal with President Donald Trump’s “America First” policies and North Korea’s expanding ties with Russia, observers say.

Yoon said in a statement issued via his defense team that he deeply regrets failing to live up to the public’s expectations, but stopped short of explicitly accepting the verdict. There have been fears he would incite efforts to resist removal, as he earlier vowed to fight to the end.

He added that he will pray for the country and its people. “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve our nation,” Yoon said.

Yoon’s ruling People Power Party said it would accept the decision, but one of Yoon’s lawyers, Yoon Kap-keun, called the ruling “completely incomprehensible” and a “pure political decision.”

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, the country’s acting leader, vowed in a televised speech to ensure “there are no gaps in national security and diplomacy” and maintain public safety and order. Han was appointed prime minister, the country’s No.2 official, by Yoon.

“Respecting the will of our sovereign people, I will do my utmost to manage the next presidential election in accordance with the constitution and the law, ensuring a smooth transition to the next administration,” Han said.

Surveys show Lee Jae-myung, leader of the main liberal opposition Democratic Party, is the early favorite to win the by-election to choose Yoon’s successor. Lee is facing trials for corruption and other charges.

Lee welcomed the ruling and credited the South Korean people for “protecting our democratic republic.”

“The courage of the people who stood in the face of guns, swords and tanks, along with the bravery of troops who refused to obey unjust orders, has led to this great revolution of light,” Lee said.

Crisis started with a night of chaos four months ago

Martial law lasted only six hours, but left behind a political crisis, rattling financial markets and unsettling the country’s diplomatic partners. In January, Yoon was separately arrested and indicted by prosecutors on alleged rebellion in connection with his decree, a charge that carries the death penalty or a life sentence if convicted.

Under Yoon’s decree, the first of its kind in more than 40 years, hundreds of soldiers were dispatched to the assembly, election offices and other sites. Special operations soldiers smashed windows at the National Assembly and scuffled with citizens gathered to protest, shocking South Koreans and evoking traumatic memories of military rule.

Enough lawmakers, including some from the ruling party, managed to enter the assembly to vote down his decree unanimously.

warrants

No major violence occurred during the brief period of martial law, but some senior military and police officers sent to the assembly have testified that Yoon ordered them to drag out lawmakers to block a vote on his decree or to detain his political rivals. Yoon says the troops were deployed to the assembly simply to maintain order.

Yoon, 64, a conservative, was impeached by the liberal opposition-controlled National Assembly on Dec. 14. The assembly accused him of violating the constitution and other laws by suppressing assembly activities, attempting to detain politicians, and undermining peace across the country.

In his final testimony at the Constitutional Court hearing, Yoon said his decree was a desperate attempt to draw public support of his fight against the “wickedness” of the Democratic Party, which had obstructed his agenda, impeached top officials and slashed the government’s budget bill. He earlier called the National Assembly “a den of criminals” and “anti-state forces.”

Yoon still faces criminal charges

Some experts say Yoon may have imposed military rule to head off a possible independent investigation into scandals involving his wife, Kim Keon Hee.

Without presidential immunity, Yoon could face other criminal charges, such as abuse of power. He’s the first South Korean president to be arrested or indicted while in office.

Yoon served as prosecutor-general under his predecessor, liberal President Moon Jae-in, before joining the now-ruling party in 2021 following disputes with Moon allies. A public image as strong-minded and uncompromising helped him defeat Lee in the close-fought 2022 presidential election. But after becoming president, Yoon has faced criticism that he refused to replace officials implicated in scandals and vetoed many bills passed by the assembly.

On foreign policy, Yoon pushed hard to bolster South Korea’s military alliance with the United States and overcome long-running disputes with Japan over historical traumas. He said that a greater Seoul-Washington-Tokyo security partnership is essential to coping with North Korea’s growing nuclear threats. Critics of Yoon accused him of unnecessarily provoking North Korea and neglecting relations with China, South Korea’s biggest trading partner.

Thailand International Auto Parts and Accessories Show or TAPA 2025, organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with associations in the auto parts industry, kicks off today to be a platform for trade negotiations, building on business success, learning and updating on new trends for businesspeople and those involved in the auto parts industry. The DITP has consistently implemented policies to support the international marketing of the auto parts and accessories industry through various activities, including: 1. Organizing trade delegations for business negotiations abroad. 2. Supporting entrepreneurs to participate in major international trade fairs. And 3. Hosting the TAPA trade show.

Being organized for more than two decades, Thailand International Auto Parts and Accessories Show (TAPA) provides opportunities for Thai manufacturers to showcase the strength and potential of the auto parts industry to buyers, importers, retailers and key players from around the world. It aims to build international partnerships and expand businesses on a global scale. Additionally, it serves as a platform for trade negotiations and the launch of new products, technologies, and innovations. The event brings together leaders in the auto parts, accessories and related services from Thailand and around the world and thus known as the world auto parts sourcing hub.

This year, TAPA 2025 is held under the theme “Sustainable for the Future”, reflecting the industry’s commitment to striking a balance between technological advancement, material innovation, energy management, and social responsibility.

Building on the success of the 2023 edition, this year’s show has received an overwhelming response from the industry. American Man Wounds Himself in Disturbing Pattaya Incident

An American man inflicts self-harm with a knife on the median of Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya, Nongprue Subdistrict, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province on April 3, 2025.

PATTAYA — Police responded to a disturbing incident on Thursday when they received reports of a person harming himself with a knife on the median of Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya, Nongprue Subdistrict, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province.

Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 5:00 p.m. to find a foreign man holding a 10-centimeter knife while reading what appeared to be a religious scripture. As police attempted to approach him, the man suddenly stabbed himself in the neck and left chest in a frenzied manner, causing significant bleeding.

Police seized the opportunity to restrain him, but the man broke free, jumping around with blood soaking his body before kneeling down and repeatedly punching the ground, suggesting he was experiencing severe emotional distress.

Officers eventually managed to subdue him, binding his arms and legs before administering first aid and rushing him to the hospital. Throughout this time, the man was reportedly mumbling what sounded like prayers.

At the scene, authorities discovered the man’s belongings, including bags and several novels by famous authors scattered on the footpath. Identity documents identified him as Brian, a 35-year-old American citizen. He was transported to the hospital where he remains under close medical supervision.

Thipawan Chaisuwan, 63, a witness to the incident, told police she had observed the foreign man reading while occasionally pointing the knife at his own neck. Fearing he might take her hostage if his condition worsened, she quickly alerted police officers at a nearby booth. By the time authorities arrived, the man had already inflicted several wounds on himself.

Police are investigating the incident and preliminarily suspect the cause may be related to stress, possibly exacerbated by the novels he was reading. Authorities are contacting the man’s relatives for information that might assist with their investigation.
