Srettha Talks To U.S. Companies, Including Tesla, Which Aims To Build Plants In Thailand

During a visit to San Francisco for the APEC summit, Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister and Finance Minister, again talked to the executives of big U.S. companies to persuade them to invest in Thailand.

He toured Tesla’s facilities and talked with the executives on Monday at the Tesla Fremont Factory in California.

Srettha explained that Thailand has piqued Tesla’s interest as a potential high-capacity production base. A decision is expected in the first quarter of 2024. Tesla representatives are planning a visit to evaluate factory sites proposed by Thai private companies. Srettha also invited them to the Yi Peng Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai during that time.

During the factory tour, the Thai Prime Minister also tested the Cyber Truck, Elon Musk’s flagship electric lorry, and praised its longevity.

“I am a . When I and another official stood on the roof of the car, there was not a single scratch. I have heard that companies in the US have ordered more than 1 million cars”.

The Cyber Truck accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2 to 3 seconds, making it faster than a Ferrari. Srettha described the experience as exhilarating, maneuverable in corners and remarkably comfortable.

Los Angeles Man Accused Of Killing Wife And Her Parents, Putting Body Parts In Trash

Mei Haskell

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles man was charged Monday with murder for allegedly killing his wife and her parents, then stuffing dismembered body parts into a trash bag, prosecutors announced Monday.

Samuel Haskell, 35, was charged with three counts of murder with special circumstances of committing multiple murders and could face life in prison without the chance of parole if convicted, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

During a court appearance, Haskell’s arraignment was postponed and he was ordered held without bail. An email seeking comment from Joseph Gutierrez, an attorney who represented him in court Monday, wasn’t immediately returned.

Haskell lived in the Tarzana neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley with his wife, their three young children and her parents.

He was arrested last week after a human torso was found in a bag in a dumpster, police said.

Mei Li Haskell, 37, and her parents, Gaoshan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64, were last seen on or about Nov. 6, the DA’s office statement said.

“On Nov. 7, Haskell allegedly hired four day-laborers to take away several heavy black plastic trash bags from his home in Tarzana,” the statement said. ”One of the laborers opened one of the bags and allegedly observed human body parts. They called 911 and reported the incident.”

They returned the bags and money, but the bags weren’t there when police arrived, authorities have said.

The same day, Haskell was caught on video dumping something in a dumpster in nearby Encino, authorities said. He was arrested the next day after someone rummaging through trash in that dumpster found a woman’s torso in a trash bag and called 911, prosecutors said.

The torso is suspected to be that of Haskell’s wife, police have said. However, they haven’t been officially identified, the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s department told KNBC-TV.

“We suspect that the torso … is the body of Mei Haskell,” Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman said Monday. “No other bags containing body parts or remains have been recovered to date but I don’t need a body to charge a murder.”

“There were items of evidence in the house that indicated he dismembered the bodies,” Silverman said.

Thai Dating Guide to Winning Thai Women’s Heart

Thai Dating Guide to Winning the Hearts of Thai Women for Foreign Men by the Longest Running High-end Matchmaking Agency – Bangkok Matching

It cannot be denied that Thai ladies are very popular among foreigners around the globe due to their beauty, charm, maternal instincts, family orientation, soft-spoken nature, nurturing qualities, and the rich Thai culture. The fame of the slogan “the Land of Smiles” makes Thai ladies even more enticing.

Many foreign men who seek to date Thai women may not fully understand how to approach dating in the context of Thai culture and win their hearts. Thai women possess unique characteristics rooted in their culture, values, and attitudes, which can pose challenges for foreign men seeking compatibility, especially when it comes to embracing values different from those in the West.

Therefore, it is crucial for foreign men embarking on a relationship with a Thai woman to understand and remember that they must make an effort to impress not only the woman but also her family. While Western cultures may not emphasize the importance of impressing the family of someone you are dating to the same degree, it is essential to grasp that, due to cultural differences, Thai individuals, especially Thai women, often maintain strong bonds with their families. This is primarily because Thai society places significant value on family, and family members often maintain close connections from infancy to adulthood. As a result, family holds a position of utmost importance in their lives.

Furthermore, research on how Thai women adapt to marrying Western men has shown that as many as 92.9% of Thai women engage in discussions with their families, parents, and elders before making such a decision. Bangkok Matching, Thailand’s leading high-end matchmaking service agency, advises that when dating Thai women, you should take their families into consideration. Before embarking on a long-term relationship, seeking the blessings and acceptance of their families is a thoughtful gesture.

In summary, in addition to winning her heart, it is crucial to also gain the approval and affection of her family.

As a professional matchmaking agency, Bangkok Matching has gathered statistical data from its clientele. Thai single women who have successfully dated foreigners through our matchmaking services have revealed that traits such as politeness, care, understanding, and a genuine commitment to making the date enjoyable are among the most impressive qualities when dating foreigners. This involves displaying gentlemanly behavior, showing respect during the initial dates, and creating a favorable first impression on Thai women.

Before dating a Thai single woman and aiming to win her heart, it’s crucial to understand seven important things:

1. Learn About Thai Culture: Take the time to explore the history, customs, and culture of Thailand. This demonstrates your genuine interest in learning about their heritage. Ignoring cultural differences can lead to misunderstandings and hinder your relationship. Understanding Thai customs, traditions, and values is a sign of respect and admiration for her way of life. For instance, in Thai society, young women are highly regarded as their parents’ most precious gift, so dating them should be done with respect for their elders.

2. Show Respect, Empathy, and Courtesy: According to statistics from Bangkok Matching’s matchmaking services, women tend to be more impressed by men who are generous and don’t cut corners on dates. Requesting a split bill after a romantic evening may leave them less enthusiastic about you. How you handle dating expenses can reflect your attitude. Additionally, choosing to dine in an upscale restaurant rather than a chain or roadside café can create a stronger first impression. Beyond these considerations, showing politeness and respect toward your date is essential. Achieving dating success can be challenging without courtesy and respect, even if you have a substantial budget for dinner.”

3. Explore Their Heritage and Personal Experiences: Delving into their childhood experiences and discussing their connection to Thai culture can make them feel valued and deepen their appreciation for you. Engage in conversations about their experiences, ask for their recommendations on Thai dishes, participate in important cultural traditions, or share memorable travel destinations. These interactions can foster a stronger emotional connection between you and them.

Moreover, many Thai women take pride in their upbringing, family ties, and culture, and they are likely to naturally discuss these topics rather than strictly adhering to any dating etiquette you may have encountered.

4. Master the Art of Appropriate Humor: It’s worth noting that Thai people generally enjoy humorous stories, but it’s crucial to be mindful of cultural differences and avoid jokes that may be considered inappropriate. Using lighthearted humor can create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Playfully engaging in humor in suitable situations can also portray you as charming and a dependable source of emotional support, especially during moments when she may feel overwhelmed or need someone to lean on.

5. Build a Connection Gradually: Thai women appreciate those who are patient when establishing relationships, as it makes them feel secure. Acting too hastily can be seen as disrespectful or insincere. Take your time to get to know each other. Avoid making explicit comments about their appearance or rushing into physical contact, as these actions can be interpreted as disrespectful. Show respect for her privacy, and consistently demonstrate care and concern every day until she begins to show signs of opening up to you.

6. Learn Basic Thai Phrases: Learning a few fundamental Thai sentences can show your genuine interest and effort in communicating with them. Simple Thai greetings and compliments can leave a positive impression. Additionally, making an effort to learn essential Thai phrases demonstrates your respect for Thai culture. It can serve as a starting point for building a closer bond in the future.

7. Understand the Importance of Family in Thai Culture: Unlike some other cultures where individuals tend to become more independent at a young age and may have distant relationships with their families, family holds great value in Thai society. Thai women often live with their families until marriage or family growth prompts them to leave. Respecting her family is essential for building a strong relationship with both her and her family. Demonstrating an understanding of this cultural aspect shows her that you respect her beliefs and can further strengthen your relationship with her.

Effective Methods for Quickly Adjusting to a Thai Woman’s Family:

  • Politeness as a Gentleman: Thai adults highly value politeness and respect when addressing their elders. Encourage her to greet her parents with the traditional Thai gesture called the “Wai,” which involves a slight bow with pressed palms. It’s also important to avoid being overly intimate or hugging them during conversations.image2 19
  • Friendly Smiling: A friendly smile plays a vital role in Thai culture. It helps you connect with both her family and yours. Keep in mind that Thais often respond to various situations with a smile, even in situations where it might not be customary in other cultures to smile at strangers or during serious moments.
  • Sense of Humor: Thai families appreciate a relaxed attitude and a bit of humor in various situations, rather than excessive seriousness. Incorporating humor into your interactions can make you appear approachable and someone who easily fits into the family, as opposed to being overly serious or distant.

How to Get Ready for a Date That Will Make Her Fall in Love!

  • Selecting a Good Date:

Setting a date and time may seem routine, but in truth, this is a crucial opportunity to establish a positive first impression by demonstrating attention to detail. Consider the ease or complexity of her journey from her residence to the chosen dating location. To show that you’re paying attention to the finer points, select a location that she can easily reach or let her choose a spot convenient for her.

  • For the first date, offer to pick her up at her house or another pre-arranged spot.

While it’s common practice in modern Western dating culture to arrange a meeting place and go there separately, in Thai culture, asking to pick her up at her residence or at a prearranged meeting point is not considered impolite. Instead, it demonstrates consideration and care, aligning with Thai societal ideals. Therefore, don’t hesitate to offer to pick her up in your personal vehicle and travel together to the rendezvous. It can certainly make her feel more special and enhance her perception of you.

These changes help clarify the text and improve its overall flow and readability.

  • Making Small Gifts Instead of Just Being Present:

In some cases, a heartfelt gift can be replaced with flowers, a card, or a kind token. It’s considerate to present these small gifts either as you get into your car or when you arrive at the date destination. Without a second thought, giving a gift establishes a strong first impression and contributes to an overall positive first date experience.

  • During the date, it’s about winning her heart:

Utilize as many of the previously mentioned strategies as possible to capture her heart, but do so with delicacy. Pay close attention to her body language, hints, and her level of comfort with you. Thai women tend to be reserved in their speech and behavior, so avoid rushing and asking direct questions. They may not appreciate candid emotional expressions or straightforward communication. However, if your date is open to discussing such matters, you can broach the subject as well. In any case, it’s essential to research her emotional makeup and preferences in advance.

Don’t forget to offer to take her home after the date, or at the very least, walk her to her car if she drives. Offer to open the car door for her. Avoid kissing and excessive physical contact during the first few dates. These behaviors shouldn’t be seen as excessive but rather as signs of gallantry and respect. They indicate that you are willing to stay with her until the end of the date, which is an encouraging gesture that will make her feel more at ease.

5 Things to Avoid If You Want to Win a Thai Woman’s Heart

In your quest to win a Thai woman’s heart, it’s important to be aware of five key things to avoid. These are critical precautions that, if unintentionally violated, could jeopardize your chances of finding love. Let’s delve into them:

1. Disparaging Cultural Beliefs and Practices:

Cultural and religious beliefs are sensitive subjects. Therefore, when you have differing opinions or concerns about these topics, it’s essential to seek constructive resolutions and engage in open discussions to share your viewpoints. Rejecting or belittling someone’s cultural concepts can lead to negative perceptions and hinder your progress.

2. Criticizing Physical Appearance:

Even in a playful manner, making jokes or negative remarks about someone’s appearance, especially on initial dates, can cause emotional distress rather than amusement. Many women work on building their self-confidence to look and feel their best. Criticizing appearance, body type, or facial features can only breed resentment.

3. Neglecting Cultural Understanding:

Assuming that dating a foreigner who lacks knowledge about Thailand is insignificant is a misconception. It’s crucial to prepare and familiarize yourself with the fundamental aspects of Thailand. Failing to do so may convey disinterest in your potential partner’s culture, making meaningful conversations challenging.

4. Overemphasis on Formality:

In Thailand, formality isn’t highly regarded, and you can opt for a casual approach instead of dressing in a fancy suit for a date. When conversing with Thai women, it’s essential to let go of excessive formality and communicate openly and honestly. This approach will foster better connections and comfort.

5. Making Her Feel Significant When She’s Around You:

No matter how luxurious your date location or how sincere your efforts, everything you do can become meaningless if you don’t express your appreciation through words or actions and fail to make her feel special. Throughout the entire date, it’s important to demonstrate that you care. Simple gestures like adjusting her clothes if something is out of place, gently brushing any dust from her hair, or holding out the chair so she can sit first in a restaurant can go a long way in conveying your affection and making her feel valued.

The Son Of A Spanish Actor Pleads Not Guilty In Thailand To Most Charges In The Killing Of A Surgeon

BANGKOK (AP) — The son of a Spanish film star has pleaded not guilty in Thailand to most charges related to the death of a Colombian surgeon whose dismembered body was found on a popular tourist island, officials said Monday.

Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, 29, was indicted by prosecutors last month over the death of Edwin Arrieta Arteaga, whose remains were found stuffed in plastic bags at a landfill on Ko Pha Ngan, an island famous for its rave-style “full moon parties.” The indictment laid out the charges of premeditated murder, concealment of the body and destruction of other people’s documents.

The Ko Samui Provincial Court and the local prosecutor said Sancho pleaded not guilty to two of the charges. The Spanish news agency EFE reported that sources close to his family said he pleaded not guilty to the murder and destruction of documents charges but pleaded guilty to the charge of hiding the victim’s body.

The charge of premeditated murder carries a possible death penalty.

The court said it would hold a session later this month to examine the evidence.

The court also said Sancho requested a new court-appointed lawyer. His current lawyer on Monday declined to comment.

The media was not allowed to film Sancho as he was brought to court. His father, Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho, was present in court.

Sancho, a chef, was arrested in August after the remains of Arrieta, who was 44, were found at a landfill on Ko Pha Ngan.

Police have said Sancho came in to report a missing person after the body parts were found and was detained. He later reportedly confessed to killing and dismembering Arrieta and dumping the body parts in the landfill and the sea, though he denied that his action was premeditated, according to police.

All Thais Are Banned From Carrying Guns After Tragedies

Despite the government’s efforts to take strict measures to control gun violence following the shooting of a 17-year-old at Paragon in October, there have been at least two other incidents in Bangkok recently.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, November 11, when a group of teenagers were involved in a shootout in which Maria Sirada Sinprasert, also known as “Teacher Jeab” who teaches computer skills at Sacred Heart Convent School, was accidentally shot. She was shot in front of TMB Thanachart Bank, Khlong Toey Branch, Sunthorn Kesa Road. She later died in hospital.

A group of parents and students of Sacred Heart Convent School laid flowers to mourn the loss of “Teacher Jeab” Maria Sirada Sinprasert on November 13, in front of TMB Thanachart Bank, Khlong Toey Branch.

On Monday morning, November 13, there was another incident when two groups of teenagers exchanged gunfire and explosives. A 15-year-old 5th grade student was killed in the crossfire near the entrance to Soi Phatthanakan 53, which runs parallel to the Bangkok-Chonburi motorway in Suan Luang district.

Anutin Charnvirakul, the Interior Minister, spoke out in favour of banning all Thai citizens from carrying weapons.

“We cannot allow people to carry guns because if students and teachers are shot like this, can society bear it? It’s not just about vocational students, it’s about everyone,” said Anutin.

shooting tragedy1
A 15-year-old 5th grade student was killed in the crossfire near the entrance to Soi Phatthanakan 53.

Anutin also addressed the problem that there are more than 10 million legally owned firearms in Thailand. He explained that instead of allowing individuals to carry guns for self-defence, it is crucial to strengthen trust in the law and the state to ensure public safety. He emphasised the need for a stricter legal framework.

The parent of a student of the affected school, Namanchu Chuenjit, expressed deep sorrow and concern. She mentioned that her child had only ever said good things about the Teacher Jeab. After learning about the incident, she was sad and said that something like this should not happen.

“I would like to ask the offender: ‘How do you feel about what you have done? You have accidentally killed a person who has nothing to do with you. My child is not well because her beloved teacher has died. And I am worried sick because the police have not arrested the perpetrator yet. I have told my child that we should not go to school yet because I am very worried. The place where the incident happened was a place where students usually pass by. Every time the students pass by the place, they are all sad,” she said.

A Wild Elephant With A Broken Tusk Has Calcium Insufficiency

Samples of the broken tusks from Plai Thong Kam

The analysis shows that the wild elephants involved in fights, particularly in the case of the confrontation between Plai Thong Kam and Plai Nga Thong in Khao Yai National Park on 10 November, suffered a tusk fracture due to calcium deficiency.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation (DNP) collaborated with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to conduct this analysis.

Samples of the broken tusks from Plai Thong Kam were examined at the Synchrotron Light Research Institute using synchrotron X-ray analysis, a technique that allows the structure and properties of elephant tusks to be analyzed at the atomic level.

In addition, soil samples from Khao Yai National Park, Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary in Loei Province and Phu Khieo Wildlife Sanctuary in Chaiyaphum Province were analyzed to investigate possible links with the health of elephants and other wildlife.

elephant fight2
Professor Dr. Saroj Rujirawat, the Director of the Synchrotron Light Research Institute and Atthaphon Charoenchansa, Acting Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.

Professor Dr. Saroj Rujirawat, the Director of the Synchrotron Light Research Institute, explained that the synchrotron X-ray analysis showed a trend indicating insufficient calcium intake in the tusks of the elephants. This aligns with the measurement of calcium levels in the soil, which revealed a low quantity of calcium. To address this, it is recommended to enrich the existing soil in conservation areas to ensure it is suitable for a variety of vegetation.

Dr Phattharaphol Manee-on, Head of the Wildlife Health Management Unit in the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, pointed out that elephants that break their tusks may exhibit altered behaviors such as walking with their heads tilted, being irritable, trying to break their tusks on one side to maintain balance, and having difficulty eating plants or digging for roots.

elephant fight1
the confrontation between Plai Thong Kam and Plai Nga Thong in Khao Yai National Park

Without tusks, an elephant may not be able to fight another elephant that has tusks and is fleeing to residential areas, increasing the conflict between wild elephants and locals.

Dr Phattharaphol further mentioned that elephant health is not only affected by a lack of calcium, but also by the elephants avoiding certain areas because tourists trample the ground, affecting the elephants’ access to suitable vegetation. Therefore, the Ministry prioritizes the welfare of elephants, similar to how the welfare of the public is considered in areas affected by elephants.

Thai Dating Apps Fueling Thailand’s Infidelity Rates?

Thai Dating Online Chaos! Are Dating Apps/Online Dating Websites Fueling Infidelity Rates?

In today’s era, where a significant portion of the population favors online dating through various dating apps and websites, there is a correlation between the high number of users in Thailand (over 10,000,000 per month, according to iResearch) and the rising rates of infidelity and divorce in the country. Bangkok Matching, Thailand’s leading high-end matchmaking company, is determined to delve deeper into this matter and provide answers to all the singles out there.

Today, Bangkok Matching presents you the intriguing data that directly impacts the love lives and relationships of both single and non-single individuals. The focal point of our discussion today is the “infidelity rate” for the year 2023, as reported by the World Population Review. They have ranked countries based on this infidelity rate statistic, and the results are now unveiled. Many may wonder whether Thailand is included in this ranking. Here’s the reveal: Thailand has made it to the top 10 countries with the highest infidelity rates in the world.

Ranking of the Top 10 Countries Worldwide with the Highest Infidelity Rates:

  1. United States: 71%
  2. Germany: 68%
  3. United Kingdom: 66%
  4. Thailand: 61%
  5. Brazil: 57%
  6. France: 57%
  7. Russia: 53%
  8. Japan: 49%
  9. Romania: 46%
  10. Australia: 44%

In the current year (2023), Thailand holds the 4th position with a notably high infidelity rate of 61%.  This statistic suggests that individuals often engage in infidelity with “strangers.” Bangkok Matching aims to clarify the term “strangers,” which refers to infidelity in the form of One Night Stands – casual encounters that prioritize physical attraction over emotional connection, typically occurring without prior acquaintance.

Even married couples are not exempt from this trend, as the survey reveals that a significant number of married Thais have been unfaithful at least once. This trend is closely linked to the increasing divorce rate in Thailand, which has surged to nearly 140,000 couples.

Upon hearing this, many individuals may experience shock, as infidelity in Thailand remains largely unaccepted, considered unethical, and often illegal. However, the fact that Thailand ranks high in infidelity rates demands an explanation. As a professional media outlet, we must provide a clear response, examining the five key reasons that drive the majority of individuals in Thailand to engage in infidelity.

The 5 Primary Causes at the Root of Infidelity, Commonly Found in Committed or Married Individuals, Are:

  1. Lack of Emotional Intimacy: When a romantic relationship lacks emotional depth, individuals may seek emotional connection elsewhere to fulfill their needs.
  2. Sexual Preferences Unmet: The combination of love and physical intimacy means that some people prefer sexual experiences that align with their desires. This could lead some to seek excitement and a partner who satisfies their sexual preferences.
  3. Desire for Novelty: For some, there is no complex reason other than an inclination toward excitement, novelty, and a penchant for risky situations. Engaging in infidelity, particularly through online platforms, is seen as a way to explore new experiences.
  4. Boredom and Repetitive Issues: Relationship challenges, when recurrent, can lead to infidelity as individuals grow tired and frustrated with recurring problems. Seeking a new connection becomes a way to escape from the mundane and find fresh enjoyment in life.
  5. Lack of Confidence in the Partner: Some people may harbor doubts and insecurities about their partners, whether related to future prospects, financial matters, or personality traits. When this confidence falters, it is not unusual to look for someone who seems more suitable or offers a higher level of certainty.

These factors shed light on why infidelity is prevalent among those in committed or married relationships, impacting the dynamics of modern relationships, particularly in an era where online opportunities abound.

Are the use of dating apps/online dating websites a significant factor contributing to infidelity?

In this regard, Bangkok Matching would like to present the findings from a survey conducted by Global Web Index, which included 47,000 respondents who were users of well-known dating apps. The survey revealed that 42% of dating app users are “not single,” with 30% of them being married and 12% already in a committed relationship. These results are quite concerning as they indicate that a significant portion of dating app users are not single, and a substantial number of them are already in relationships.

Furthermore, in 2018, a group of researchers conducted an analysis of similar surveys, examining various contributing factors. Their conclusion was that “online dating applications have a tendency to lead to actual infidelity.”

Bangkok Matching, as a professional matchmaking company with extensive experience in dating and relationship counseling, would like to elaborate on the sub-factors that transform dating apps and online dating platforms into channels that increase the infidelity rate. These factors are as follows:

Why Do Online Dating Apps and Online Dating Websites Make Infidelity Easier?

Bangkok Matching believes that a significant factor contributing to people engaging in deceptive behavior and choosing to use dating apps and online dating websites lies in the convenience these platforms offer. From the moment of registration, dating apps and online dating websites typically rely heavily on automated filtering systems. They lack thorough human background checks or interviews, allowing virtually anyone to sign up. This absence of authenticity verification results in a lack of scrutiny regarding users’ true qualifications.

Additionally, the freedom to set one’s own bio, relationship status, and other attributes on these dating platforms often lends itself to ambiguity rather than clarity. This, in turn, can lead to the cultivation of secret relationships and hidden affairs. The systems typically do not verify whether the stated single status is factual or deceptive. Conversations carried out through chat, text, or video chat cannot always confirm the true intentions of the other party, leading to the risk of being deceived or manipulated.

Moreover, with the advent of sophisticated AI technology, individuals with ill intentions or malicious agendas can now create AI-generated virtual personalities to deceive genuine singles on online dating platforms. These virtual personas are so convincing that they can engage in video calls and other interactions, further complicating the detection of deceit.

In summary, the combination of a lack of proper verification, ambiguous user settings, and the rise of AI-driven deception all contribute to making online dating platforms a breeding ground for infidelity and deceptive behavior.

The High Divorce Rate in Thailand and the Role of Infidelity

Taking a closer look at the situation in Thailand, one of the primary causes of high divorce rates is infidelity. Bangkok Matching would like to share statistics from the Department of Provincial Administration’s marriage registration data for the year 2022 (2565 Buddhist Era). This data reveals that the divorce rate in Thailand has been increasing year by year, with over 140,000 couples divorcing in this period. Bangkok leads the way in divorce statistics, with 17,635 couples in the first quarter of 2023, making it the number one province for divorce in the country.

The primary reasons for divorce in Thailand typically revolve around four main factors:

  1. Marital Conflicts and Misunderstandings: Disagreements and conflicts within marriages that escalate into misunderstandings are a leading cause of divorce. These conflicts can range from not understanding each other to domestic violence, with violence being the number one reason for couples to seek divorce.
  2. Infidelity: Infidelity is a significant issue that often leads to the end of marriages. Once infidelity occurs, it becomes challenging for the couple to continue their relationship. In the present day, infidelity is made easier through various means, including online dating apps, websites, social media platforms and other avenues.
  3. Lack of Responsibility: Marital issues often stem from a lack of shared responsibility in various aspects of life. When one partner feels burdened by the other’s lack of responsibility, it can lead to dissatisfaction and divorce.
  4. Substance Abuse: Substance abuse within families has long been a serious problem. It contributes to violence and an unsafe environment within the family, ultimately leading to marital issues and divorce.

These factors collectively contribute to the rising divorce rates in Thailand, with infidelity being a significant driving force behind many failed marriages.

How to Prevent Online Dating Apps from Ruining Relationships

For those who are in a committed relationship or already dating someone and are concerned that their relationship might be jeopardized by the use of online dating apps as a tool for infidelity, Bangkok Matching cordially offers some valuable dating advice to help maintain your love.

  1. Maintain and Strengthen Your Relationship Consistently invest in your relationship by adding sweetness and positive emotions to it. This can be done through planning trips that change the atmosphere, having romantic evenings that stand out from ordinary days, or finding special ways to show your affection and support for each other. Filling your relationship with positive feelings will discourage turning to others, as keeping the connection strong is paramount.
  2. Make a Commitment to Trust Each Other Although there may not be strict guidelines in relationships, couples should commit to open communication with each other. Establish trust and confidence in your partner by discussing any problems or dissatisfactions you may have with each other. Avoid keeping these issues hidden and turning to dating apps for companionship or venting.
  3. Be Genuine and Transparent Honesty and transparency in behavior is key to preventing infidelity. Avoid hiding your feelings or engaging in secretive activities such as secretly using dating apps while in a committed relationship. Being forthright will build trust and confidence between partners, as deception and later discovery can lead to irreparable damage.
  4. Seek Relationship Counseling when Issues Arise Don’t hesitate to seek guidance from relationship experts or psychologists when problems arise. It is essential not to underestimate the value of professional advice. Having a neutral party who can provide expert guidance will help safeguard your relationship from deteriorating.

In conclusion, Bangkok Matching would like to stress that maintaining a strong and open relationship and committing to trust and honest communication are essential to safeguarding your relationship against the pitfalls of infidelity. While online dating apps are prevalent, a loving and secure relationship should be the primary focus. Utilize professional guidance when needed to ensure a lasting and fulfilling partnership.

Long Live Love!

Thai Government Denies Requesting Chinese Police Joint Patrols

Tourist Police Bureau

To address the tourist safety concerns, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will cooperate with the Central Investigation Bureau, the Tourist Police, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and may include the Chinese police.

Miss Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, announced the results of a meeting at Suvarnabhumi Airport on November 12, 2023 which Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance presided before going to the United States for APEC summit.

She explained that authorities have been monitoring the aspects of safety, product quality and management for tourists in Thailand. This includes creating a memorable experience for visitors.

With regard to the participation of Chinese police officers, the project aims to deploy Chinese police officers to increase security in primary and secondary tourist cities in Thailand, similar to a successful initiative in Italy. However, specific details about the number of officers and the cities involved were not disclosed.

The aim of this initiative is to boost confidence in Thai tourism and ensure that the targeted 4 to 4.4 million Chinese tourists are reached in the last two months of the year. Ms Thapanee explained that inviting the Chinese police is a way of demonstrating Thailand’s commitment to safety.

“Chinese tend to be afraid of local law enforcement agencies. It is expected that Chinese police officers demonstrating their confidence in Thailand will boost the confidence of Chinese visitors,” she stated.

However, Chai Watcharong, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, clarified updated details following criticism that questions why Chinese police have to come to patrol in Thailand.

“According to the Royal Thai Police Office, the grey Chinese group or those who have committed a crime are frequently afraid of the Chinese police themselves.” Chinese tourists will feel especially protected if Chinese police are on hand to protect them. Therefore, Thai police believe that asking Chinese police to assist them in carrying out their duties is the best practice. They have information and clues and are willing to fully collaborate with Thai authorities. However, there is no idea to use Chinese police officers patrolling to provide security in Thailand,” said the spokesman.

According to the BBC, the case that TAT mentioned about Italy is an agreement between China and Italy in 2015 that let Chinese police officers take part in joint patrols with Italian counterparts in Rome, Milan, Naples, and other centres in a bid to make Chinese tourists feel safe during the peak tourism period.

Chinese media CGTN also reported that Chinese police officers went to Italy to carry out joint patrols in May 2016 and June 2017.

However, the joint patrols were “suspended” in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in December 2022, Italy has stopped this kind of operation after reports that Beijing ran police-like operations abroad.
